Microfinance Summit 2007 (29-30 November) Monday, 19 November 2007

The National Bank of Cambodia, along with UNDP, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), ANZ Royal Bank and other sponsors, will be holding Cambodia’s second major microfinance conference on 29-30 November 2007 at Hotel Cambodiana. Microfinance Summit 2007: Reaching New Heights will look at ways of improving access to financial services in Cambodia. The conference will focus on three main themes: integrating microfinance into the overall financial system, diversifying product range available to poor and low-income clients, and leveraging technology to lower costs and reach rural clients. Cambodia May Have Less Oil Than Thought

Doubts have surfaced recently however. Recent announcements by the prime minster Hun Sen and rumors about Chevron's plans indicate that the reserves may be far smaller than implied.
